  • Lyrics

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach so
She ran away in her sleep
And dreamed of
Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
And the bullets catch in her teeth
Life goes on, it gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear a waterfall
In the night the stormy night she’ll close her eyes
In the night the stormy night away she’d fly

And dreams of
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh
She’d dream of
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh-oh

Lalalalalalalalalalala
And so lying underneath those stormy skies
She’d say, “oh, ohohohoh I know the sun must set to rise”

This could be
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

This could be
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

This could be
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

  • Meaning of this song

This song represents the attempts by a girl to maintain a child-like innocence in her life by dreaming.
The first verse tells of a young girl who had high expectations (When she was a girl/She expected the world); these expectations could be the product of constant attention to fairy tales – expecting the world to be fair and just, where all girls can be princesses, marry their Prince Charming and live happily ever after – or simply being subject to an optimistic upbringing where the philosophy ‘the world is your oyster’ underpinned every lecture by parent and teacher alike. However, evidently the bar was raised too high and the expectations not reached (But it flew away from her reach) suggesting maybe a life not lived – plans not made, dreams not followed, opportunities missed, feelings not acted upon. At this the girl withdraws into her mind, acting out the life she would have led if Fate allowed her in her dreams (So she ran away in her sleep/And dreamed of para-para-paradise…/Every time she closed her eyes). The line ‘The bullets catch in her teeth’ indicates that in her dreamed-up paradise nothing can hurt her, nothing can go wrong.
The second verse details how, as the girl grows up and matures, she faces difficulties and complications (Life goes on, gets so heavy) and some hardships she faces are enough to break her spirit (The wheel breaks the butterfly). In this line, it’s assumed that the butterfly is symbolic of the girl – a beautiful and innocent creature – and the ‘wheel’ can be regarded as the ‘Wheel of Fortune’. This was an Elizabethan Era worldview where each individual would pass around a circle from good fortune to bad fortune to good fortune and around again and so on – much like ‘what goes around, comes around’. Therefore it’s said that the ‘wheel of fortune’ has turned and the girl has met with misfortune and has had extreme physical or emotional difficulty in moving past it (Every tear a waterfall). But she perseveres and finds comfort and distraction in her dreams (In the night, the stormy night/She closed her eyes…/Away she’d fly/And dream of para-para-paradise).
In the final verse, the girl is depicted ‘lying under stormy skies’ which could be a metaphor for her life’s struggles or if taken literally, could act as a piece of pathetic fallacy. Her response to the storm – ‘I know the sun is set to rise.’ – reinforces her sense of optimism in life, allowing herself to believe that though her battle is great at the moment, the wheel will turn full circle, the sun will rise and she’ll reach a level of peace in her life – her paradise.
The last lines of the song – ‘This could be para-para-paradise’ – could reflect a changed mindset in the girl; for a while she had been languishing over her misfortune and finding solace in her dreams at night however, the words ‘This could be’ suggest uncertainty – that she’s toying with the notion that changing a part of her life, altering some aspect of her existence will produce a positive outcome and maybe turn her unfortunate life into her paradise.

AN EDUCATION FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Currently, many potential leaders, both local leaders and leaders of central me will provide free education for the people. They promised that if they are elected, they will provide a decent education for free. However, in the field of free education discourse is quite impossible to be implemented because it is not right. This discourse will find some of the problems that will occur in the field if it dont changed..

The first reason is, the word free in the discussion indicated that there was not cost a dime. But in fact, there is still a school fees. Students will still be charged as buying sports clothing, uniforms, and other school needs. This is because aid is given only help operational alone, such as the cost of electricity, water, books – textbooks, and others. And that’s not enough because the school also requires operational costs should be every day like, the cost of photocopies, markers, and others – others. So the school will definitely keep charging their students. Therefore, the word free in this discourse is not appropriate.

The second reason is, if it becomes free, students will have no sense of responsibility. They will go around school because they think the school does not require sacrifice one bit. However, if paying the students will have a very high responsibility for learning. They will seriously follow the lessons in school. because they would think, if they are not serious in learning, then they will lose money.

Furthermore, if the government remains to commit free education. This means that the government will disburse funds. However, that is a problem is not in the funds, but the funds disbursement process that will lead to some problems. As it is known that the disbursement of funds is usually carried out in the central government, so as to achieve the school funds must pass through several post first. This is what will create opportunities – opportunities crimes. There will be elements – elements that cut funding on the grounds of administrative costs. As a result, funds to school is no longer intact as it was originally.

Moreover, this funding will happen very long. In fact, it takes many – months to get to school. In fact, the school is very costly – the costs to finance the operational purposes of schools that must be paid. As a result, the school – the school can not run optimally. For example, if the absence of markers, or photocopy them definitely asking for funds to students san ends – ends they do not pay as well.

Based on the reasons – reasons that have been outlined above, it can be concluded that free education is just a promise – a promise merely because it is impossible remedy is implemented and if implemented would be ineffective. This is due to several things; funds provided by the government will not be enough, making students become responsible, and the process is long and difficult. Therefore, the discourse of free education is more appropriate and reasonable if it is replaced with free education.

City tour

When I was 3nd grade of junior high school, my friends and I trip to Bali for vacation. We were there for five days. We got many precious experiences during the vacation.

First day, we visited Kuta Beach in the morning. We saw the lovely sunrise there. It was an outstanding view. Then, we checked in to the hotel at the night. After taking a nap at the hotel, we went to Tanah Lot. Tanah lot was nice place. It was lovely place for taking photo. We saw so many tourists there.

Second day, we spent our time on Tanjung Benoa beach. We played water sports at there. We drove banana boat and speed boat. In the afternoon, We went to Penyu island to see unique animals such as big turtles, snake, and sea birds. We felt enjoyed and happy.
The last day, we went to Sangeh. We could enjoy the shady forest. There were so many monkeys. Sometimes the monkey could be naughty. We could be really close with them. After that, we visited to Sukowati Market. I bought Bali T-Shirt, souvenirs and some food for gift there

At the night, we had to check out from the our hotel. We went back home and bring so many unforgettable memories of Bali.

My School Life

School life is a very important, wonderful, educate, and interesting experience that most of people need for prosperity that they want to get in the future. But in school life there must be some awful or unwanted things that happened to us. It’s natural, because no one is perfect. This time, I will write about my school life in 3 Bandung Senior High School. I hope you all like it and I hope I get a great score. Amin!

Before I study, I joined the school program named POST. The purpose of this program is to persuade the student to join extracurricular in the school and tell how important and useful for us to join the school organization. First, there was a Daniel college student who has graduated from 3 Bandung Senior High School, called Dio. He told us about his experienced in 3 Bandung Junior High School. His story was very meaningful and entertaining. And then, all of the school organization introduce and promote themselves to us. It was very good and interesting.

I have studied here for about six weeks. My class is X-8 and it is located in the third floor. There are two whiteboards where the teacher teach the student. The desk and the chair is the same with the desk and the chair in my junior high school. There is an in focus with the screen too. What is bad about our class is, from 10.00am the class feel very hot, so we couldn’t really focus to study. We were suffering because of the heat. At first, we couldn’t turn on the AC because we couldn’t find the remote until our physic teacher called someone to turn on the AC. Since that day, Atalla turn on the AC everyday.

I didn’t feel a lot of differences between study at junior high school and at my high school. What really different is the people in here. In this school, I met some great and unique persons that have their own character or personality. They are smart, diligent, active, and some of them is very good at making jokes. Most of them has registered course. And these things motivates me to work harder, because I don’t want to be left behind. They’re different from my junior high school friend. And the teacher’s also different. The teacher is more serious and give more homework. Before I got into 3 Bandung Senior High School. I always think that the students activities is just study, pray, rest, and study again without any physical exercise. But I was wrong, there are a lot of persons that good at playing football. So, what makes my high school is really different than my junior high school is the society. Oh yeah, I have to say ‘Assalammualaikum’ to the teacher, senior, friend, and all the Belitung citizens.

It has been a great experience. I hope my school life will be fun, amazing, and wonderful.
